TARLAC CITY, September 3, 2026. Authorities continue searching for the two remaining passengers of the vehicle that plunged into the Tarlac River following the partial collapse of Agana Bridge in Barangay Tibag on August 29.

The missing passengers have been identified as Sheila Mae Taborlupa and Paul Harvey Collado.

The gray Toyota Avanza involved in the incident was recovered from the river near Ninoy Aquino Boulevard on September 2. A crane and other heavy equipment were used to lift the submerged vehicle from the riverbed. However, the two missing passengers were not found inside.

Five people were reportedly inside the vehicle when it fell into the river. One passenger survived and was rescued shortly after the incident, while four were initially reported missing.

The remains of James Patrick Taborlupa and Shanen Tuhao were later recovered in separate areas of Pangasinan. Tuhao was found in Barangay San Vicente, Bayambang, on September 1.

Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap previously confirmed that search, rescue, and retrieval operations were continuing in coordination with concerned government agencies and nearby local government units.

Personnel from the Tarlac Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Tarlac City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Army, police, and emergency volunteer groups have participated in the operations.

The Agana Bridge incident happened following days of continuous Habagat rains and powerful river currents that caused flooding and infrastructure damage across Tarlac and nearby provinces.

As of the latest verified reports on September 3, authorities had not announced the recovery of the two remaining passengers.

The public is encouraged to follow official announcements and avoid spreading unverified information out of respect for the missing passengers and their families.

Everything Tarlac will continue monitoring the operation and publish confirmed developments as they become available.
