Water levels at six of nine monitored dams increased over the past 24 hours as the Southwest Monsoon continued to affect parts of Luzon and the Visayas, according to PAGASA data reported Monday morning.\n\nAs of 8:00 AM on September 7, water levels increased at Angat, Ambuklao, Binga, Pantabangan, Magat and Caliraya dams.\n\n## Pantabangan and Angat levels rise\n\nPantabangan Dam in Nueva Ecija rose from 197.25 meters to 197.61 meters, an increase of 0.36 meters.\n\nAngat Dam in Bulacan rose from 205.81 meters to 206.30 meters, an increase of 0.49 meters.\n\nBinga Dam in Benguet posted the largest increase among the monitored dams, climbing by 0.50 meters.\n\nOther increases were recorded at Caliraya, Ambuklao and Magat dams.\n\n## San Roque level decreases\n\nSan Roque Dam in Pangasinan, meanwhile, decreased from 282.08 meters to 279.46 meters.\n\nPAGASA data also showed decreases at Ipo Dam in Bulacan and La Mesa Dam in Quezon City.\n\nTwo gates each at Ambuklao, Binga and San Roque dams were open on Monday, according to the report.\n\n## Why this matters to Tarlac and nearby provinces\n\nReservoir conditions in Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan and Bulacan are worth monitoring because continued Habagat rains are affecting several areas of Central and North Luzon.\n\nA separate PAGASA rainfall advisory earlier Monday also identified parts of Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Bataan and Zambales as experiencing or expecting light to moderate rain with occasional heavy rain.\n\nResidents in low-lying and flood-prone areas should continue monitoring official PAGASA and local disaster-risk advisories, particularly if rainfall intensifies or additional dam-gate operations are announced.\n\nEverything Tarlac will update this report if PAGASA issues materially different dam or rainfall information.
